THE DEVELOPMENT BRIEF

Capsule size starts with the fill.

A capsule size is not a fixed ingredient weight. Bulk density, powder flow and the formula itself influence how much material fits and how consistently it can be filled.

Send the amount of each ingredient per serving, your preferred capsule count and the material specifications. We use these to assess shell size, the fill blend and any excipients the formula needs.

WHAT CAN BE CUSTOMIZED

Shell, blend and serving.

Shell & size

Discuss gelatin or plant-based hard-capsule shells, size and appearance. Dietary suitability should be checked across the complete formulation, not inferred from the shell alone.

Ingredients & blend

Review single ingredients or multi-ingredient blends. Botanical extract grade, carriers, flow behavior and the intended fill weight all affect the manufacturing brief.

Serving & pack count

Agree on capsules per serving, servings per bottle and fill count. These decisions connect the formula to the label, bottle volume and customer’s daily-use instructions.

PEOPLE, PROCESS & THE FINISHED PACK

The shell and fill
in one specification.

The capsule shell, blend specification and target fill weight should be agreed together. Keep ingredient grades and carriers in the record, and confirm the relevant fill checks before the production run.

Production images are used with permission from our manufacturing partners. The production site, equipment and documents for your order are confirmed against the agreed brief.

SAMPLING & PRODUCT REVIEW

Match the specification to the finished capsule.

Material identity

Confirm extract specifications, ingredient grades and any carriers. Similar ingredient names can describe materially different inputs.

Fill consistency

Agree on target fill weight, relevant uniformity checks and the finished-product criteria. Raw-material results alone do not describe every characteristic of the filled capsule.

Pack compatibility

Discuss bottle and closure options, storage conditions and whether moisture-control components are appropriate for the formula.

BEFORE YOU START

Questions worth asking.

Need a detail that is not covered here? Send us your brief.

Can a larger fill weight use the same capsule size?

Not always. Capsule capacity depends on the blend’s bulk density and filling behavior. We need to review the actual formula rather than apply one universal weight limit.

Are plant-based capsules automatically vegan?

The shell is only one part of the product. The origin of the ingredients, carriers, flavors and other inputs also needs to be checked before making a finished-product claim.

Can you work with botanical extracts?

Yes, suitable extracts can be reviewed for capsule projects. Provide the extract specification, carrier information and target amount so the fill blend can be assessed.

Which documents should be agreed for a capsule order?

Agree on the shell and ingredient specifications, finished-product criteria and batch documents before ordering. Confirm which tests cover the filled capsule and which cover only the raw materials. Required documents depend on the product and destination market.
